Technical Details

This Asus Vivobook S15 laptop has the Intel processor similar to what we find in gaming laptops. So, the performance is quite impressive. The processor has 12 cores and 16 threads, with 4 P cores and 8 E cores.This laptop also comes with a 16GB RAM variant, which is around ₹3000 more expensive. I recommend going for the 16GB variant 8GB won’t be as sufficient when you do high end work. In terms of storage, it has a 512GB SSD, providing speeds of around 3700 for read and 3300 for write, which are speeds comparable to Gen 3. The laptop has a PCIe 4.0 mention, so you can upgrade to a Gen 4 SSD for higher speeds. There’s only one SSD slot, so if you want to upgrade, you’ll need to replace the existing one. You can upgrade up to 1TB.

Connectivity Features

Now looking at the Asus Vivobook S15 laptop’s features, it’s well-equipped with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth version 5.3 for seamless connectivity. Microsoft Office comes pre-installed, saving you from additional expenses for office-related work. If you check the right side, you’ll find ports and notifications. On the left side, there’s one port and an exhaust vent. Let’s focus on that port – it’s a USB 2.0 Type-A, located on the left, while all the other ports are on the right side.

Now, on the right side, you’ll find some ports and a little light that blinks to tell you things. So, about the laptop design the top lid is just about right, not too tight or too loose. Opening it requires both hands. The screen has a bit of a wobble, but it’s not too much, just a little movement. Now, the weight distribution is a bit off. You’ll need both hands to open the laptop, and there’s a medium-sized wobble on the screen.

Now, peeking inside the laptop, it’s made of polycarbonate. The keyboard area has a bit of flexibility, similar to the right side. The base is also polycarbonate, hosting speakers, rubber grips, and air vents for intake.

Display and Input

As our laptop is 15.6 inches, we get a full-size keyboard. A touchpad is included, and a single-color backlit keyboard is available. A white color light is available to us. Even in the dark, the light of the laptop’s keyboard flex is quite sufficient. I mean, even in the dark, you can use your laptop quite well. If you have some work to do at night, some reading and writing, there is no problem. And here, by pressing F7, you can adjust the brightness of the keyboard light. Even lights can be turned off. For example, if you are using it during the day, there is no need for lights. Save battery backup, turn off the lights.

As for the support of Intel’s H, inside this laptop, we get a fingerprint scanner. That’s our power button, and it’s a fingerprint scanner. It works quite well, I mean, touch it, and the laptop is unlocked instantly. And here is the trackpad, which is quite good in size. Fully clickable, no problem, and the laptop’s display is IPS. But brother, it’s a good IPS, 15.6 inches full HD display, meaning 1080p resolution. A 60Hz refresh rate is available. On average, it gives around 9 hours, and the cool part is it supports fast charging with an Intel port.

This laptop also has this neat feature called PC Link. It lets you connect your phone to the laptop for transferring files and even controlling your laptop remotely. Plus, there are lots of customization options, like tweaking the battery settings, adjusting fan profiles, and using AI noise canceling. Performance and Benchmark

So, We tested this  Asus Vivobook S15 laptop  for a Cinebench R23 test and it scored around 11,500. That’s pretty decent for a slim and light laptop. Usually, gaming laptops hit scores between 12,000 and 13,000 in this test.

Now, when it comes to gaming, we played Valorant and GTA 5 on it. In Valorant, it ran smoothly, giving us around 30-40 frames per second – not bad at all.

It’s good for editing 1080p videos, and the brainy part of the laptop (the CPU) does a nice job making videos look good. However, if you’re into heavy tasks or super fancy graphic designing, having a special graphics card would be even better.
